Some Media Mentions
Q2 television in Billings did a little story about housing in late November, and they mentioned my video and interviewed me. Here's the clip (opens in a new window):
Thanks so much to Dianne Baker and Q2 for noticing my original video and adding a little balance to the story.
The Billings Gazette published my Letter to the Editor in response to the 'No Bubble in Billings' article. Readers rated it 4.8 out of 5 stars!
And the PBS Mediashift blog mentioned my video and website in a post about housing bubble blogs.

An interesting study would be to consider the effect of age demographics contributing to real estate prices in Billings. The Baby Boomers drove much of the increases in home prices in the 70's as they began their careers and purchased their first homes. Likewise, the impact of the Baby Boomers on home remodeling and selling/repurchasing to upgrade homes/neighborhoods should be considered. Today, more than 1/2 of School District 2 teachers and adminstrators are eligible to retire. Nationally, more than 1/2 of the FBI will retire during the next 7 years. These Boomers are in their top earning years, with more disposable income. They are retiring, reinventing themselves, starting 2nd careers, and remodeling/upgrading their homes. They have contributed to and benefited from the wave of real estate inflation. I am not suggesting that age demographics are the only determining factor in real estate prices, but the Boomers are contributing nationwide to the increases.
Hello Doug!
Fantastic video! Excellent use of Stats and Graphs! Very educational and entertaining! As Roger Ebert would say: Two Thumbs UP! WAY UP!
I am eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel! Working title maybe "From Boom to Gloom: The Billings Real Estate Bubble Part 2" Has a nice ring to it, right?!
I've never been to Billings, but it looks like a lovely town. And Montana is absolutely GORGEOUS! Would love to visit once winter is over.
Thanks again for a great video! From another Ben Jones Fan!

Thanks for the work you did in putting this together!
I wish you lived in or visited Phoenix and produced a documentary just like it for our market!
