Explosive Peeps Revisited

I found the secret to explosive Peeps!
Ever since an earlier blog entry, I have been puzzling over the question of how to make explosive Peeps. Finally, it came to me, and it's so simple! All we need is pressure, and that can be supplied by the plastic wrapping that encases our Peeps. So pop your unopened pack of Peeps into the microwave and let 'er rip!
After a few moments, the Peeps inside begin to swell. Then the box loses its shape and the Peeps rapidly expand and push the shrink wrap to unimaginable proportions. Finally, with a satisfying POP!, Peep guts fly and it's all over.
Effects on your microwave depend on how the plastic fails and the Peeps splatter, and may range from salvageable to potential Superfund site. Click on the image below to see a larger image of the aftermath. Warning: Not for the squeamish.

Recipe suggestion:
Peep rice krispie treats.
I haven't tried it, but came up with the idea after looking at your site. It seems like it would be quite pretty, especially if you used one color of peep to make the goop that keeps the rice krispies together and then stirred in chopped up pieces of different colored peeps when you were adding the cereal.
Freakin' hilarious.
You are nutty!
Is the soul of a peep eewwey-gooey... oh.

Wow...just wow. I loves me some Peeps, and your blog is my new favorite. Rock on.
I stumbled across this blog today and was nearly falling out of chair laughing at some of the things posted.
I have always been a fan or Peeps-on-a-stick around the campfire myself. I love 'em freshly toasted.
You are a genius!!! Love them peeps!
